Nagpur: Preparations for the Maharashtra Legislature’s Winter Session in Nagpur have gathered pace, with the Legislature Secretariat scheduled to begin functioning from November 28. The Winter Session is set to commence on December 7.

The district administration and Public Works Department (PWD) have been directed to complete all essential infrastructure and maintenance works ahead of the session.

Officials have set November 24–25 as the deadline for completing works at Vidhan Bhavan, Hyderabad House, Ravi Bhavan, Nag Bhavan and the MLA Hostel.

The work includes painting, furniture repairs, maintenance and other arrangements required to accommodate legislators, ministers, government officials and staff.

Officials and employees from the state government’s Mantralaya are expected to start arriving in Nagpur two to three days before the Secretariat begins functioning.

Contractors are now awaiting work orders to begin the remaining projects without delay.

With the Secretariat scheduled to become operational on November 28, the administration is working to ensure that all essential arrangements are completed before the arrival of government officials and legislators.
