Nagpur: State asks energy dept to bear cost of power supply to govt schools

NAGPUR: Replying to a query on basic amenities at government schools, State Education Minister Vinod Tawde said that the energy department must bear expenses of electricity supply at all government schools in the State. He also directed to ensure that power supply was not disconnected at these schools.

Tawde said that the education department and rural development department would jointly work in the direction of maintaining old school buildings. He also assured that the technical problems with Pavitra Port would be rectified soon.

He said the Human Resources Development department would soon hold a meeting to discuss uplift of government schools in the State.

Tawde assured that separate toilets would be constructed in 300 girls’ schools. He claimed that he spent 90% of his time at Zilla Parishad schools during the last four years as Education Minister.
