Nagpur Sizzles at 42.6°C Amid Scorching Heat Wave in Vidarbha

Nagpur:The Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra is reeling under a severe heat wave, with Akola recording a scorching 45.8 degrees Celsius on Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This marks the highest temperature in the region, surpassing Thursday’s 45.5 degrees Celsius.

Other areas in Vidarbha are also experiencing extreme heat. Brahmapuri reported a high of 45 degrees Celsius, followed by Yavatmal at 44.5, Wardha and Washim each at 44.2, Amravati at 44, Chandrapur at 43.4, Gadchiroli at 42.8, Nagpur at 42.6, Buldhana at 41.5, and Gondia at 41.8 degrees Celsius.

The IMD forecasts that heat wave conditions will persist on Saturday in Akola, Amravati, and Chandrapur. However, there is a glimmer of hope as thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall are predicted at isolated places across several districts, including Bhandara, Gadchiroli, Nagpur, Gondia, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to cope with the extreme temperatures and stay hydrated.
