Nagpur: Nagpur and several parts of the Vidarbha region woke up to biting cold on Tuesday morning, recording the lowest temperatures of the season so far. A sharp dip in minimum temperatures was observed across the region, with Gondia recording 7°C, Nagpur 7.6°C, and Wardha district 8.4°C.

The sudden cold wave made its presence strongly felt early in the day. In Nagpur, the minimum temperature of 7.6°C marked the coldest morning of the current winter season. The abrupt fall in temperature disrupted daily routines, with people stepping out wrapped in warm clothing during the early hours.

Cold winds intensified the chill during morning and night hours, increasing discomfort across the city. Elderly citizens, children, and those suffering from health issues are being advised to take extra precautions amid the rising cold. The drop in temperature also led to increased footfall at tea and coffee stalls, as well as vendors selling hot snacks. Many daily wage workers and residents in open areas were seen relying on bonfires to keep warm.

This spell of intense cold clearly signals that winter has reached its peak in the region, making it essential for people to protect themselves with adequate warm clothing and pay close attention to their health.
