Nagpur : Under the banner of Maharashtra English School Trustees’ Association (MESTA), school trustees met State’s Education Minister Vinod Tawde during the ongoing monsoon session of State Assembly in Nagpur and demanded early disbursement of funds under the Right to Education (RTE).

The MESTA demanded early disbursement of unpaid funds of more than 50% for the period from 2012 to 2015. They also demanded that unauthorized schools be shut down and defaulting students must not be protected by the administration.

The MESTA also submitted memorandums to the Education Secretary, Education Deputy Director and Education Officer, and warned of launching agitation if their demands were not met in time.

The delegation that met the Education Minister included MESTA district secretary Kapil Umale, working president Mohd Abid and vice-president Naresh Bhoyar.
