Nagpur: Renowned theatre director Prakash Lunge passes away

Nagpur: Renowed theatre director and actor Prakash Lunge passed away on early Tuesday morning at his residence in Nagpur. He was not keeping well since last few days. The cremation will take place at Mokshdham crematorium at Ambazari at 4 pm today.

Prakash Lunge was a very humble and polite human being, who dedicated his entire life to Marathi theatre. He was very passionate about theatre and apart from actor and director, also played the role of mentor to numerous theatre actors and directors in Vidarbha region.

Among the many plays Lunge had directed, Marathi play ‘Valucha Ghar’ had won first prize in Maharashtra State Annual Drama Competition thus bringing the coveted recognition to Nagpur after almost three decades in late 90s.

Lunge worked hard to put the regional theatre and its artists on national map.

Prakash Lunge was among the most respected theatre personalities in the region. He had many reputed awards to his credit. He leaves behind an army of his students and fans to mourn his demise.
