Nagpur: After witnessing heavy rainfall over the past few days, Nagpur is likely to see a gradual decline in rain intensity from Monday, with the weather department not issuing any alert for the city beyond Monday.

Nagpur received heavy rain on Saturday, followed by another spell of continuous rainfall for around one-and-a-half hours on Sunday morning. The rain, however, eased later in the day, providing some relief to residents.

According to the weather department, the influence of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal resulted in increased rainfall activity across Nagpur and other parts of eastern Vidarbha. The changing rainfall pattern has also been linked to the influence of El Niño.
