Nagpur police bust Gas Cylinder Black Market Racket

Nagpur: In a major crackdown, the Nagpur Police’s Crime Branch Unit c arrested a 28-year-old man for running a gas cylinder black market racket in the city. The accused, Pritpal Singh also known as Prit Gurucharan Singh Bagal, was caught during a raid conducted on August 26, 2024, at his residence in Minimata Nagar, Kalmana.

The police seized 59 gas cylinders, a gas refilling machine, and a four-wheeler vehicle, besides cash amounting to Rs. 3,11,500. The accused was allegedly selling gas cylinders at exorbitant prices, posing a risk to the lives and property of citizens.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection), with a team of officers. The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is underway.
