Nagpur: Ambazari police have arrested two more accused, identified as Mukund Khandate and Narendra Senger alias Bablya, in the murder of Nilesh Karauti alias Bagga late on Saturday night. Of the four accused, Mukund’s brother Rahul and his accomplice Pranay Kawle had been nabbed earlier. The accused were produced before the court which remanded them to police custody till December 21.

Mukund was known as a practitioner of witchcraft and black magic, an art in which Bagga too claimed to be an expert. Since Bagga was famous in the vicinity, Mukund and his accomplices laid a trap and stabbed Bagga a few meters away from his resident at Marartoli on Friday night.

In another case, 40-year-old accused Gurudevsingh Kaur, who strangled his wife Loveprit (32) with his turban on Friday afternoon, is still at large. Jaripatka police are keeping tabs on his mobile phone number to trace his whereabouts. Cops have also questioned a neighbour of the accused, but didn’t get any substantial information.

In the Hudkeshwar murder case, two main culprits were arrested on Sunday. Dhamanand Borkar and Mansaraj Meshram alias Lahanya had slit the throat of 28-year-old Pankaj Tiwari, who had earlier threatened to kill them over some old rivalry. Tiwari was consuming liquor when the accused barged into his house and killed him. The accused were presented before the court, which remanded them in police custody till December 22.

Nandanvan police also sent a squad to nab the supporters of killers who murdered 35-year-old Harish Bawne mistakenly on Friday night. Three main culprits, including two juveniles, were rounded up on Saturday.
