Nagpur: A 16-year-old boy was allegedly killed in a knife attack following a dispute at the meat market near Ginger Mall in the Jaripatka police station area of Nagpur on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Abid alias Abu Razzaq Sheikh, a resident of Lumbini Nagar.
According to preliminary information, a dispute broke out between a group of youths at the meat market between 9 pm and 10 pm. The argument reportedly escalated into a violent clash, during which Abid was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon.

Abid sustained serious injuries and collapsed at the spot. After receiving information about the incident, Jaripatka Police rushed to the scene and shifted him to Mayo Hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Following the incident, police increased security in the area and launched a search for those involved. On Friday, police reportedly detained three minor suspects in connection with the murder. Efforts are underway to trace their alleged associates.
Murder Suspected to Be Linked to Old Dispute
Preliminary police investigation suggests that the incident may have stemmed from an old dispute. According to the information available, Abid had allegedly been involved in an argument with some youths from the Panchpaoli area around two months ago.
Police suspect that the accused called Abid to the area near Ginger Mall, allegedly on the pretext of resolving the earlier dispute. The confrontation reportedly escalated at the meat market, resulting in the fatal attack.
Jaripatka Police are questioning the detained minors and investigating the role of other suspected persons. Police are also examining the circumstances leading up to the attack and the exact motive behind the murder.
DCP Ramesh Dhumal, Zone 6, Nagpur City Police, is expected to provide further details regarding the investigation.
