Nagpur: Guardian Minister and State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule held a review meeting at the Nagpur Zilla Parishad, addressing various developmental issues. During the meeting, he directed officials to expedite all pending development projects.
Bawankule emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring no citizen is left without a permanent home. He highlighted that many poor families, previously living in remote and forested areas without proper shelter, have now been identified. Referring to the Supreme Court’s directive, he stated that people residing on such lands since before 1996 must be granted land ownership by March.
The minister further said that the government is coordinating various housing schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Ramai Awas Yojana, to provide homes to the maximum number of beneficiaries. Currently, around 30 lakh houses have been made available under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he added.
