Nagpur: Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd conducted a Joy Ride for media persons on Friday followed by a press meet in which Managing Director of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd Brijesh Dixit addressed city’s media people.
Dixit informed that Maha Metro would be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Railway to extend Nagpur Metro rail services to nearby suburban areas like Katol, Wardha, Bhandara and Ramtek. A special 3 coach train with a capacity of 1000 commuters will be run on the tracks. As the Metro trains run with high speed, it would efficiently serve to time savvy commuters going to and from these areas.
Dixit exuded confidence that the project would also come as the effective resolve to the passengers travelling long distances in the city and nearby areas on routine basis.
Metro trains, being the fast speed trains would commute to the places in less time, thereby cutting travel time and also the cost of transportation, he added.
