Nagpur: A shocking incident unfolded in Nagpur’s MIDC area on Sunday afternoon, where a husband allegedly murdered his wife with an iron shovel following a heated argument over suspected extramarital relations. The gruesome act has sent shockwaves through the locality.
According to police reports, the accused, Kishor Shankar Pradhan (31), and his wife Rinki Kishor Pradhan (23) lived in Panchsheel Nagar, Nagpur. Kishor had long suspected that Rinki was in a relationship with a man named Karan. Frequent quarrels had erupted between the couple over the issue, despite repeated attempts by family members to resolve their disputes.
On Sunday around 1:30 PM, Kishor allegedly saw Rinki talking to Karan on her mobile phone once again. In a fit of rage, he picked up a nearby iron shovel and struck her on the head. Kishor then rushed the severely injured Rinki to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Following a complaint lodged by Sub-Inspector Sanjay Bansod, MIDC Police registered a case against Kishor Pradhan under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
Domestic violence and suspicion-driven crimes continue to remain a grim reminder of the rising interpersonal conflicts in urban households.
