Nagpur: An elderly woman was allegedly duped of four gold bangles weighing around 50 grams and valued at nearly ₹1.50 lakh by two unidentified men posing as employees of a company in Nagpur’s Lakadganj police station area.
The incident took place on September 18 in the afternoon in the Bhaurao Nagar area of Vardhaman Nagar. Police have launched a search for the accused after their movements were reportedly captured on CCTV cameras.

Accused Posed as Company Employees
According to police, the two accused, both reportedly around 45 years old, approached the house of complainant Kumindrapal Madan and spoke to his wife near the gate.
The suspects allegedly introduced themselves as employees of ‘Royal Company’ and claimed that they were promoting the company by offering to clean and polish gold and silver jewellery as well as copper and brass utensils free of cost.
Believing their claims, the woman reportedly handed over some utensils for polishing. After the accused cleaned them, she allegedly handed over the four gold bangles she was wearing.
Fled With Gold Bangles
Police said that as soon as the accused obtained the bangles, they allegedly took advantage of the opportunity and fled from the spot.
The four bangles weighed approximately 50 grams, with their combined value estimated at around ₹1.50 lakh.
Following the complaint, Lakadganj police began an investigation. CCTV footage from cameras installed in the surrounding area reportedly captured the suspects, providing police with clues about their identities and movements.
Police are now searching for the two unidentified accused across the city.
Lakadganj police have appealed for information that could help identify and trace the suspects.
