Nagpur: Orange City Water (OCW), in collaboration with Little Millennium School, organised a series of water conservation awareness sessions for students of KG I and KG II across 14 Little Millennium branches in Nagpur. More than 600 students participated in the initiative, which focused on helping the city’s youngest generation understand the value of water from an early age and develop responsible water use habits.

The initiative is aimed at building a water conscious future by introducing children to the importance of water conservation at an early stage. The interactive sessions focused on saving every single drop of water and adopting responsible water use practices in everyday life.

Through simple and engaging activities, students were encouraged to understand how small actions in their daily lives can help prevent water wastage. By introducing these values at a young age, the initiative seeks to lay the foundation for a generation that is more conscious, responsible and committed towards conserving water.

The awareness campaign was conducted at Little Millennium branches located at Jafar Nagar, Dabha, Jaripatka, Godhani, Raj Nagar, Shri Nagar, Surendra Nagar, Manish Nagar, Besa, Surya Nagar, Wardhaman Nagar, New Nandanwan, Wathoda and Medical Square.

More than 600 students participated in the sessions and were educated about responsible water usage and conservation. Their participation highlights the importance of starting water conservation awareness with children, as the positive practices they learn can be carried into their homes and communities.

Every Drop Counts

At the heart of the initiative was the message that every drop of water matters. The campaign adopted a positive approach towards water conservation by helping children understand that protecting water resources is not only the responsibility of adults, but something everyone can contribute to.

Students were encouraged to understand the importance of simple habits such as avoiding unnecessary water wastage and using only the required amount of water. When adopted collectively, these small everyday actions can make a meaningful difference in conserving water.

The initiative is also focused on developing responsible water use habits at the foundation level. By reaching out to the youngest generation, OCW and Little Millennium aim to ensure that children grow up understanding the importance of conserving water and become responsible ambassadors of water conservation within their families and communities.

Nitesh Singh: Early Awareness Can Build a Water Secure Future

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Nitesh Singh, CEO, OCW, said, “Water conservation starts with awareness, and the earlier we nurture that awareness, the stronger the foundation we can build for a water secure future. Through this initiative, we aim to help children understand the value of every drop and recognise how small, everyday choices can make a meaningful difference. By engaging with students at a young age, we hope to inspire responsible water habits that stay with them and become a natural part of their daily lives. This initiative is a step towards fostering a generation that is more conscious, responsible, and committed to protecting our most precious resource.”

The initiative further reflects OCW’s commitment towards protecting and preserving water resources for future generations. By taking the message of water conservation to children across Nagpur, the campaign seeks to create a positive ripple effect, where awareness among students encourages responsible practices at home and gradually contributes to a broader culture of water conservation across the city.

The participation of more than 600 children across 14 Little Millennium branches also reinforces the importance of schools and educational institutions in creating awareness about responsible water usage. By helping children understand the importance of conserving water and encouraging them to practise responsible habits, the initiative aims to take the message beyond classrooms and into homes and communities.

Building a water conscious future begins with creating awareness today. Through such community focused initiatives, OCW continues to encourage responsible water usage and strengthen its commitment towards safeguarding this precious resource for generations to come.
