Nagpur: A shocking incident of domestic violence has come to light in the Hudkeshwar area of Nagpur. A man allegedly murdered his wife over suspicions of her having an extramarital affair. In an attempt to mislead the police, the accused claimed the death was accidental. However, following an investigation, the Hudkeshwar police have arrested the husband and filed charges of murder, sparking widespread concern in the local community.
The deceased woman has been identified as Rakhi Patil (27), and the accused husband as Suraj Patil (34). The couple, along with their two children, aged 5 and 3, had recently moved into a rented apartment in Tuljai Nagar just two days before the tragic incident.
According to sources, Rakhi had reportedly disappeared from home a few days ago, which led Suraj to suspect her of being involved in an extramarital relationship. Upon her return, tensions between the couple escalated. On Thursday, the arguments intensified, culminating in Suraj allegedly striking Rakhi on the head with a heavy object in a fit of rage, resulting in her death.
After committing the crime, Suraj took Rakhi to a nearby hospital, claiming she had fallen from the third floor of their building. However, bloodstains found at the scene of the crime raised suspicions among the police. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Rakhi’s death was not caused by a fall but by severe head injuries inflicted intentionally.
As soon as the police received information about the incident, they dispatched a team to the hospital and the crime scene. Initial findings confirmed foul play, leading to Suraj’s arrest. Following the murder, Suraj attempted to flee with his children, but police apprehended him within hours. He is currently in custody, and further investigations are underway.
The Hudkeshwar police have registered a case of murder and are continuing with the legal proceedings. This incident has left the local community in shock, highlighting the tragic consequences of unresolved domestic disputes.
