Nagpur: Nagpur Police continued their crackdown on hookah parlours allegedly using banned tobacco products, raiding Second Floor Cafe at Laxmi Bhavan Chowk under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi Police Station late at night.
A joint team of Crime Branch Units 2 and 3 and the NDPS team raided the café and reportedly found 23 customers smoking hookah. Police also seized a large quantity of hookah equipment and tobacco products during the operation.

According to police, when the team reached the café, an attempt was allegedly made to prevent the raid by locking the premises from outside. Police subsequently broke open the lock in the presence of panch witnesses and entered the premises.
19 Hookah Pots Seized
During the raid, police seized 19 hookah pots, 10 pipes, 20 chillums and packets of banned tobacco, with the total value of the seized material estimated at around ₹2.02 lakh.
Police arrested three persons in connection with the case — Sunny Vikas Borkar, the alleged operator of the parlour, along with Sarthak Babarao Pakhale and Harsh Naresh Durve.
Action was also taken against the 23 customers found smoking hookah and the owner of the premises.
A case has been registered at Sitabuldi Police Station under relevant provisions, including the COTPA Act.
The arrested accused and seized material were subsequently handed over to Sitabuldi Police for further action.
Police said the raid was part of ongoing action against establishments allegedly using banned tobacco products. Further investigation is underway.
