The Dean has sought permission to remove one Neem tree, estimated to be 51 years old. The tree has been classified as a heritage tree, making its proposed removal a notable aspect of the application.
Citizens Have Seven Days to File Objections
According to the public notice, citizens who oppose the proposed tree felling must submit their objections in writing, explaining the reasons, to the Tree Officer, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Civil Lines, Nagpur, within seven days.
Objectors must also provide valid identification. The NMC has stated that objections received after the stipulated seven-day period will not be considered.
The notice has been issued by the Deputy Commissioner (Garden) and Tree Officer of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
The proposals are currently at the public-objection stage. The notice seeks permission for tree felling; it does not, by itself, establish that the trees have already been cut or that final permission has been granted.
