
Nagpur: A massive wave of jubilation swept through Nagpur late Sunday night as cricket lovers poured onto the streets to celebrate India national cricket team retaining the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title with a dominant victory over New Zealand national cricket team.
A sea of humanity thronged Laxmi Bhavan Square on West High Court Road, where thousands of ecstatic fans gathered to celebrate the historic triumph. Youngsters, families and cricket enthusiasts waved the Indian tricolour, danced on the streets and chanted “India, India!” in unison, creating a carnival-like atmosphere in the heart of the city.
The celebrations continued late into the night as colourful fireworks illuminated the sky, adding to the electrifying mood. Many fans arrived with drums, whistles and loudspeakers, turning the square into a vibrant celebration zone.
Motorists passing through the area slowed down to join the festivities, honking their horns and waving flags from car windows, while groups of youths performed impromptu dance routines in the middle of the road.
Police personnel were deployed in the area to regulate traffic and ensure the celebrations remained peaceful as crowds continued to swell following India’s emphatic win in the final.
For Nagpur’s cricket lovers, the night turned into an unforgettable celebration of national pride, as the city joined millions across the country in rejoicing Team India’s successful defence of the T20 world title.
