Nagpur: The demand for a complete farm loan waiver has once again intensified across Maharashtra, with farmers taking to the streets in protest. Prahar Janshakti Party leader and MLA Bachchu Kadu has issued a stern warning to the government, declaring that the fight will now be waged on the roads. “The farmers’ voice cannot be silenced anymore,” he asserted.
Against this backdrop, the ‘Maha Elgar Tractor March’ was organized in Nagpur, drawing thousands of farmers from across the state. The streets resonated with powerful slogans and chants expressing farmers’ frustration and determination.
Carrying placards and shouting slogans such as “Farmers’ rights are our birthright” and “No rest until loan waiver is granted,” the protesters voiced their anger over the government’s unfulfilled promises.
Addressing the rally, Bachchu Kadu lashed out at the government, saying, “Our patience is running out. Fulfill your promises to the farmers, or we will launch a statewide agitation.”
The massive march brought traffic in parts of Nagpur city to a standstill for several hours. Police had deployed heavy security to maintain order during the demonstration.
Following the protest, farmer organizations across Maharashtra appear to have gained renewed momentum, hinting at more intense agitations in the coming days.
