Nagpur Crime: Bomb scare in Empress City Mall, accuse points pistol at neighbour in Mominpura

Nagpur: The criminals and unscrupulous elements do not seem to be bothered by heavy rains. While there was a phone call from Empress City Mall claiming an unidentified object in the mall. This panic call sent the cops rushing to Empress City Mall in a panic mode along with the personnel from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).

Till the filing of the report, it was not clear if the Bomb scare was real or some prank call.

Firing in Mominpura area??

In another incident which occurred in Mominpura area, one accused identified as Maqsood Ansari Rashid Ansari aged 25 years and a resident of area near Muslim Graveyard (Kabrastan) pointed a country made pistol on his neighbor identified as Mohammed Mumtaz Ahmed aged 38 years and a resident of the same area. Both are said to be on an ongoing old-dispute.

On August 13, 2015, Mohammed Mumtaz Ahmed accidentally hit the son of Maqsood Ansari Rashid Ansari. This irked the accused Maqsood Ansari Rashid Ansari who started a heated argument and then pointed his country made pistol on his neighbor. When he noticed a huge crowd gathering in the spot to witness the quarrel, the accused fled from the scene.

Sources claimed that the accused fired one bullet from his country made pistol. However, while speaking to Nagpur Today, Police Inspector Khandekar of Tehsil Police Station rubbished the claim of firing and said that the accused did not fire any bullet from his country made pistol.

On receipt of the information, the cops from Tehsil Police Station reached the spot and on the basis of the complaint lodged Mohammed Mumtaz Ahmed, registered a case under sections 307 and 325 of Indian Penal Code against the accused and have initiated an investigation into the case.
