Untitled-2Nagpur: It was a proud moment both for a father and his daughter who faced head on, every hurdle coming her way to realize her father’s long drawn dream! Yes, Amrina Kasim, an ambitious daughter of Ghulam Pathan, a peon at Nagpur court is all set to become a Judicial Magistrate.

For Pathan, it was the biggest moment of his wife. As a class-IV staffer in the judiciary, he pushed back all problems to provide his daughter with the best course of education and all possible assistance. Amrina lived up to his expectations by clearing the competitive Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) examination in the first attempt.

Amrina obtained her degree in law from Dr BR Ambedkar college in Nagpur city. Since she had a passion to make a career in the legal system, renowned advocate and former magistrate, Shyamnayan Abhyankar employed her as an intern in 2011. Meanwhile, Abhyankar also guided her to prepare for JMFC.

In a felicitation programme organized by District Bar Association, Amrin took the podium to thank his father. “I used to tell my father that ‘mujhe woh wali (judge’s) chair chahiye yeh nahi’ (I want that the judge’s chair).

Today I am happy that ‘woh wali’ chair is within reach now,” she said with much appreciation from the senior members of city’s judiciary. She is set to take over as Judicial Magistrate of Bhandara court from next month.
