Nagpur: A family dispute over money for liquor turned fatal in the Kalamna area after a 19-year-old allegedly stabbed his elder brother multiple times following a heated altercation. The 21-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Mohan Chintaram Bante (21), while police have arrested his younger brother Sameer Chintaram Bante (19) in connection with the killing.

According to police, Mohan was addicted to alcohol and frequently demanded money from his parents to buy liquor. When refused, he allegedly created a scene at home, abused family members and quarrelled with them.
Police said Mohan’s mother returned home from work at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, when she found him allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He reportedly demanded money for liquor, but after being refused, began throwing household articles outside the house.
The situation escalated when Mohan allegedly abused Sameer and attempted to assault him. He also reportedly threatened his younger brother with a knife.
Later, at around 8.30 p.m., Sameer allegedly returned carrying a knife and attacked Mohan, inflicting multiple wounds on his hands, abdomen, back and neck area.
Mohan sustained serious injuries and was rushed by family members to Mayo Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead during treatment.
Kalamna Police arrested Sameer and recovered the knife allegedly used in the attack. A case of murder has been registered and further investigation is underway.
