
Nagpur: A massive fire broke out at a mandap decoration shop in the Bada Tajbagh area of Nagpur late at night, triggering panic in the locality. The fire destroyed the stock and other materials kept inside the shop, with preliminary estimates putting the loss at around ₹70 lakh.
The shop, owned by Haji Mohammad Vakil, reportedly caught fire at around 12:11 am. Local residents noticed smoke coming from the premises, which quickly turned into a major blaze.
After receiving information about the fire, a team from the Sakkardara Fire Station rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations.
Firefighters worked for some time to bring the flames under control. However, by then, the materials stored inside the mandap decoration shop had reportedly been completely destroyed.
According to the preliminary assessment by the Fire Department, the estimated property loss is around ₹70 lakh. A short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, although the exact cause is yet to be established.
The incident has also been reported to the police. Authorities are conducting further inquiries to determine the exact cause of the fire and assess the total extent of the damage.
