Nagpur: Three cars were allegedly vandalised late at night at Dayanand Park Ground in Vaishali Nagar, within the jurisdiction of Panchpaoli Police Station. One accused was caught by local residents and handed over to police, while two others allegedly fled the spot.
The incident reportedly took place between 9 pm and 9:30 pm. According to the complaint, Chirag Nanwane, a resident of Rani Apartment in Vaishali Nagar, had parked his car at the Dayanand Park ground. During this time, unidentified youths allegedly smashed the windows of his car and two other vehicles parked nearby.

Hearing the sound of breaking glass, local residents rushed to the spot. They reportedly managed to catch one of the youths while he was attempting to flee. He was identified as 29-year-old Abhijit Nikose. His two alleged accomplices escaped.
According to local residents, the three youths had allegedly been sitting at the ground and consuming what was claimed to be ganja before the incident. They allegedly challenged each other to smash car windows, following which the three vehicles were vandalised.
The incident has caused concern among residents of the area. Locals claim that groups of anti-social elements frequently gather at Dayanand Park at night and have urged police to increase night patrols and take action against such activities.
Panchpaoli Police are investigating the case and searching for the two absconding suspects.
