Nagpur Today: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is schedule to visit Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) on September 10,2014. The NAAC team will stay for three days for accreditation inspection. Many up gradation works are going on in full swing.
During the last visit of NAAC, Nagpur university had to be content with ‘B’ grade. But this year, with the improvement in the infrastructure, teacher’s strength and research initiatives it will be interesting to see if RTMNU gets ‘A’ Grade. The ‘internal quality assurance cell’ of RTMNU is working on war footing to remove any hurdles.
The NAAC committee gives emphasis on the works done of upgradation of syllabus, research work, appointment of teaching and non-teaching staff. RTMNU has in preparation for this has focused on introducing credit base system, semester pattern and recruitment of teachers.
RTMNU has decided to impress the NAAC team and to convince them that they are adhering to all the rules and regulations prescribed in the University regulations. In order to ensure that there is synchronization, proper inter-departmental communication so that all preparatory works get completed in due time, a five –member team has been constituted to monitor and expedite all the work.
The review committee is visiting all the departments and reviewing the prepartations. They are also reviewing all the presentations which the HoDs are intented to present before the NAAC committee. The HoDs are made to present the presentations before the committee members so that they can rectify all the lacunas in the presentation.
