Angry mob torches tipper which claimed life of 24-year-old youth

Nagpur News: The angry mob of local residents of Godhni on Koradi Road torched a truck carrying heavy goods, when the truck crushed a 24 year-old youth riding a two-wheeler under its wheels. The mob thrashed the heavily drunk tipper-driver and torched the tipper. The incident occurred on Saturday, the August 16, 2014 around 1:30 pm, when a Tipper-Truck driven by a heavily drunk driver at break-neck speed, hit a 24-years-old youth, two-wheeler rider and killing him on the spot.DSC_0172

The 20-years-old youth Nitin Tapade aged 24 years and a resident of Sadiqabad complex. Nitin Tapade was returning home from his College. Angered by this, the on-looker crowd had initially broken the wind-shield and later torched the truck. If on-lookers are to be believed, the truck driver was heavily drunk which caused him to lose control over the vehicle. The driver had tried to flee from the accident spot, but the crowd of on-lookers managed to capture him, thrash him and later handed over to the police.

The accused driver of the Tipper truck is identified as Vilas Devrao Deshbratar aged 46 years and a resident of Gorewada slum area.DSC_0171

According to In-Charge PI of Gittikhadan Police Station, Police Inspector Bonde, the driver had tried to apply brakes, but by that time the truck had already hit the victim. The deceased had lost his balance and his head came under the rear wheels of the truck and he died on the spot. The Gittikhadan Police has registered a case under section 304 (A) of IPC and are investigating.DSC_0167
