NAAC team inspects RTMNU departments on Day One, puts basic facilities under scanner

The Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) authorities, who conducted dozens of examinations for lakhs of students, had to face a barrage of questions on Wednesday from a team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The NAAC team in Nagpur for accreditation inspection of Nagpur University and will stay for three days for inspection of various aspects. The RTMNU authorities have made grand preparations for NAAC visit.

The NAAC team got down to work early in the morning itself on Wednesday, September 10. The day one of inspection began with the meeting in the morning  between the NAAC team and Acting Vice Chancellor Anoop Kumar of RTMNU. Anoop Kumar gave a presentation before the team on history, work and future plans of the university. It was followed by NAAC team visiting the offices of Registrar and Pro-Vice Chancellor.

Later, two separate inspection teams started visiting the Post Graduate Departments of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Campus, Amravati Road. According to information, on day one the NAAC team inspected Humanities Department, Biochemistry, Statistics, Zoology, Chemistry, Economics, History, Marathi and other departments. The focus of NAAC team was on basic facilities. The Heads of these departments gave presentations before the NAAC team.

NAAC holds talks with RTMNU Council members:

The NAAC team also held talks with the Council members of the university in the Mathematics Department in Campus. The Council members Dr. Babanrao Taywade, Mahendra Nimbarte and Adv.Abhijeet Wanjari and others informed the NAAC team about the various initiatives implemented in the university.

Council member Mahendra Nimbarte informed them about how students from very far distance and many parts of Vidarbha take admissions in Nagpur University because of affordable fees being charged here. The fees of Nagpur University are less in comparison to the other universities.

The NAAC team also was informed about the welfare schemes being run for the needy students wherein the students  get financial aid for studies, award schemes, staff insurance scheme and teachers welfare fund.

The NAAC team also had lunch with the Council members in the afternoon.
