Nagpur: The body of a 55-year-old unknown woman was found under mysterious circumstances besides a nullah on Besa road late on Monday night.
Ajni cops who later informed the police control room said the body had started to decompose already when it was discovered. The woman was wearing a T-shirt and trousers and there were no ornaments recovered from her body.
An orange coloured thread was tied on her right wrist and a black thread was found tied on her left leg. However, no suspicious object was recovered.
Cops, after conducting primary investigation, sent the body to GMCH for post-mortem. Cops said she must have died two to three days ago. As there was a thunderstorm on Sunday, the body had started to decompose fast. Her stomach was also swollen, cops added. A case of accidental death will be registered at the Ajni police station. Cops would verify the missing person complaint and probe the case.
