Nagpur: Close on the heels of suicides by an AIIMS girl student in Delhi and engineering student in Andhra apparently due to ragging recently, a student ended his life in a boys’ hostel on Tuesday mysteriously.
The student, identified as Rahul Pandurang Badhe (18) took the extreme step by hanging to a nylon rope in Asim Boys Hostel situated opposite YCC Engineering College in Vana Dongri. Rahul’s body was found hanging to a ceiling hook. Prateek Suresh Dongre (19), a colleague of the deceased, alerted the MIDC police. The Lady PSI Yadav aling with other staff reached the spot and after completing paper formalities, sent the body of Rahul to Government Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. Police have at present registered a case of accidental death and investigating the matter thoroughly. It is learnt that no suicide was found in the room where Rahul committed suicide.
