Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Crime Branch nabbed a Mumbai based drug peddler in Kamptee on Wednesday night and seized 53 gms of Mephedrone commonly known as MD drug worth Rs 1.59 lakh.
The name of the accused was given as Sushant Prabhakar Tambe (28), a resident of Municipal Kamgar Wasahat, Devnar, Mumbai.
The sleuths of ANC received secret information about a drug peddler coming to Kamptee on Wednesday night with MD drug. Following the tip off, cops laid a trap near a cement road in front of Kamptee Railway Station. Cops found a man approaching the spot at around 11.30 pm. Subsequently, cops surrounded him who spelled his name Sushant. On being questioned about the reason for approaching this isolated spot at this time, when Sushant failed to provide any sort of answers, the cops searched him and found 53 gms of MD drug in his possession.
Cops have booked Sushant under the relevant Sections of the IPC and placed him under arrest.
