Three murders in 6 hours rock Orange City

Nagpur: Three murders within the span of less than 6 hours left the city cops in a tizzy on Wednesday night. In two incidents reported under Nanadanvan police, two 22-year-old youths were murdered by the unidentified assailants. While the body of a famous businessman with throat slit was found at Gondwana Square under Sadar police station jurisdiction.

In the first incident, Vicky Vijay Dahake (22), a resident of Plot. No. 29, Senapati Nagar was hanging out near an open ground on Wednesday night. At around 11 pm, some unidentified men with sharp weapons accosted Vicky and attacked him murderously. The accused reportedly stabbed Vicky’s abdomen and back. Leaving him lying in the pool of blood the assailants, then fled the spot. The matter came to fore when some locals found Vicky soaked in blood. Subsequently, they called an ambulance and alerted Nandanvan police. Vicky was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where the doctors declared him brought dead.

In similar circumstances, a group of three men attacked a vegetable vendor and also stole Rs 1000 from his possession. However, when his friend tried to intervene in the matter the accused trio reportedly stabbed him to death near KDK College.

In his complaint, a 25-year-old Mohammad Asif Sheikh Mohammad Saeed, a resident of Plot. No. 156, Kharbi, told Nandanvan police that, he is a small vegetable vendor and runs business on Rajendra Nagar-KDK College road on his wooden cart. On Wednesday evening, Asif and his friend Sayyad Imran Sayyad Niyaz (22), a resident of Hasanbagh were together near KDK College when at around 7 pm three men on a moped bike approached them. The trio forcefully took veggies from the cart and started putting inside the dicky of the moped. When Asif asked them for money the trio started manhandling him before hurling abuses at him. Following which Imram came to intervene in the matter. However, the accused trio whipped out knives from their pockets and started attacking Imran. The seriously injured Sayyad Imran collapsed and died on the spot.

Nandanvan police have registered an offense of murder in both the cases and started the manhunt of the accused.
