Mumbai Airport Runway to Remain Closed on April 9, 10

Mumbai: The runway at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai will remain closed on April 9 and 10 for six hours, from 11 AM to 5 PM. The step is being taken due to the pre-planned maintenance activities before the monsoon season. Following this, several flights have been cancelled whereas, many have been rescheduled.

“Airport will be shut for six hours on April 9, 10 and October 23 for maintenance on runway intersection,” an official was quoted as saying in a media report.

According to Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) officials, maintenance of Instrument Landing System (ILS) would be conducted on these days.

Apart from Mumbai Airport, Chandigarh International Airport runway will be closed from May 12 to May 31, Ahmedabad – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport runway remains between 10 AM to 7 PM since March 25. The exercise will continue till April 15.

On the other hand, Calicut International Airport runway is closed since March 25 and will remain the same till June 15, 2018. The timing for the same is 12 PM to 8 PM. The Jaipur International Airport runway will remain closed till May 31 from 10 PM to 5 AM and the runway at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow will be closed till June 30 from 9 PM to 6 AM.
