Much awaited ‘Regional Paramedical institute’construction work to start at GMCH

To be built with an investment of 80 crores , the regional Paramedical institute will be constructed in the TB ward premises of Government Medical college, hospital, (GMCH ) Nagpur. Nagpur Paramedical Institute will the head quarters for the courses running in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh , Chattisgarh , Gujarat  and Goa. The Central Government is funding 68 crores and State is funding 12 crores for this project . The building will have a Library, research lab and many other facility in its vicinity.

The Health and Family planning ministry of Central Government in its 11th fifth year  commission had planned to start paramedical courses to provide sufficient paramedics in the Country. These courses are running in all the Government Medical colleges of Maharashtra from last 4 years. This year the first batch of the passed out will come out.

According to information HLL has got the tender to construct the Institute. The design of the institute is ready ,a private firm has done it and has sent it to HLL and the Government . The construction would start after monsoon and is expected to begin from November or December .

After completion of the Institute,  Medicals students intake capacity will increase.
