Nagpur: The Joint Action Committee of Electricity Workers’ Union has demanded immediate cancellation of orders that directed various MSEDCL employees to join SNDL on deputation. In letters sent to Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer, MSEDCL, Nagpur Urban Zone, the Secretaries of different unions of electricity workers have strongly protested the orders of deputation. The Joint Action Committee has warned that if their demand is not met by the authorities concerned it will resort to bandh agitation.

The letters further said that all the employees of Joint Action Committee are working with MSEDCL. The Committee has no objection if the employees are deputed on MSEDCL in accordance with the rules and regulations of the company. But sending on deputation to oversee the working of a private company is illegal. Who will be responsible for any untoward incident while working in SNDL? The responsibility should have been fixed before sending the MSEDCL employees on deputation to SNDL, said the Joint Action Committee in its letters.

The letters sent to Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer, MSEDCL, Nagpur Urban Zone were signed by eight secretaries of various unions of Joint Action Committee.
