Riding on the cricket wave that has currently gripped the nation, director Neeraj Pandey is out with the teaser of his upcoming biopic on ace cricketer Dhoni. Titled MS Dhoni – The Untold Story, the teaser shows Dhoni as a ticket collector played by Sushant Singh Rajput. He is wandering amid the crowd while on his duty. The most striking feature is that one can hear his voice taking orders from his senior diligently. This comes as a huge surprise since we all are used to seeing Dhoni work like a boss as the head of Team India.
The only cricket feature in the teaser is Ravi Shastri’s commentary during the final of the 2011 World Cup. So, overall, the teaser gives a clear idea that the film will focus a lot on the personal life of Dhoni, thereby staying true to its tagline. These early visuals also promise a dedicated performance from Sushant.
Produced under the banner of Fox Star Studios, the film also stars Kiara Advani, Anupam Kher and Herry Tangri, who will essay the character of cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
‘M. S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’ is all set to release on September 2, 2016.
