Vandana, who previously worked as a social worker, was hesitant in the beginning. With no business background or experience in the hospitality industry, she often questioned whether the two could successfully run a restaurant. However, Niharika remained determined and spent nearly two years convincing her mother to take the leap.
What ultimately inspired Vandana was her love for cooking and feeding people.
Today, the mother-daughter duo shares a bond that balances affection with professionalism. Speaking candidly about their relationship, Niharika says her mother is extremely organised and believes in perfection, while she herself is more spontaneous and creative.
“She scolds me even in front of the staff sometimes,” Niharika laughs.
Yet, she admires how her mother keeps business and personal life separate.
“At home she treats me like family, but at work she treats me professionally,” she says.
