The morning walk and carelessness proved costly for a man as a burglar (s) relieved him of booty worth Rs 1,55,500.
According to police, the complainant Santosh Gopichand Patil, (37), resident of Plot No. 416, Hiwri Nagar, near Saroj Convent under Nandanvan Police Station closed the backyard door by only latching and went to the morning walk between 05.15 and 06-15 on Sunday. A goon (s) on the prowl, took advantage of the easiest situation and entered Patil’s house by just opening the door. Once inside, the criminal (s) swept the gold ornaments and cash Rs 3,500 kept in an almirah collectively worth Rs 1,55,500 and easily escaped the house. When Patil returned from the morning walk, he was bewildered to find the bounty vanished. The Nandanvan PSI Dixit, acting on the complaint of Patil, registered offences against the unidentified burglar (s) under Sections 454, 380 of the IPC and investigating the matter further.
