‘Monster Mother’: Woman sells her minor daughter twice for flesh trade in Nagpur

The victim girl, after spending four years in ‘hell,’ approached Lakadganj police herself and lodged a complaint against her mother and relatives

Nagpur: In an incident putting even the devil to shame, a woman turned ‘Monster Mother’ as she sold her minor daughter not once but twice for flesh trade. This shameful episode got exposed when the victim girl, after spending life in a hell-like condition, approached Lakadganj Police Station herself and registered a case in this regard.

Acting on the girl’s complaint, cops have booked the mother and others under Sections 370, 370(I), 372, 373, 376(2), 344 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) read with Sections 6, 8, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

According to police, in the year 2017, the money-greedy accused woman handed over her minor daughter to her relatives for prostitution. The relatives took the girl to dance bars for sexual trade. But since the girl protested and refused to work in the dance bars, she was taken to her village at her mother’s place.

Police further said, in 2018, the pervert woman, with the help of her relatives, sold her minor daughter to a person for Rs 20 lakh for flesh trade. At the person’s place, the girl was being forced for prostitution and also beaten up severely whenever she refused to ‘entertain’ customers. This evil buyer, after sensing that the victim girl was not a profitable proposition, dropped her at her relatives’ place again.

In 2020, according to police, the victim girl’s relatives sold her to a pimp running a brothel in Nagpur for Rs 20 lakh. The brothel operating woman forcibly pushed the girl into flesh trade and whenever she refused, she was subjected to severe thrashing. The woman pimp would also spike the girl’s food with sedatives and would push her into prostitution in that condition, police said.

The year 2021 brought relief to the victimised girl from the four-year hellish life. The minor girl, with the help of a customer, managed to escape from the brothel in Nagpur, and returned to her mother. However, after keeping the girl at home for some days, her mother and relatives again started planning to sell her for flesh trade. The girl was alerted about this nasty deal by her grandmother who asked her to leave the place immediately. The grandmother anyhow helped the victim girl and her 4-year old brother to board a bus to Nagpur. After reaching Nagpur, the girl straightaway went to Lakadganj Police Station and lodged a complaint against her mother and relatives after narrating the harrowing experience she underwent for the past four years.

Lakadganj police, acting on the girl’s complaint, booked her mother and relatives under Sections 370, 370(I), 372, 373, 376(2), 344 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) read with Sections 6, 8, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act and mounted a probe into the matter. No arrest has so far been made in the case.
