Molestation at Law College : No police plaint yet, Nagpur Varsity forms probe committee

dr-babasaheb-ambedkar-law-collegeNagpur: The much hyped case of molestation of a girl student by a visiting faculty at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Law College has refused to die down. Taking the serious note of the situation and pacify the angst among the students, the RTMNU has formed a inquiry committee to investigate the matter. However, no police complaint has been filed in this concern.

A girl student had written a complaint to the principal of the college about molestation by a visiting faculty of the college. The student alleged that the visiting faculty who is a lawyer took the girl outside on pretext of assignment and misbehaved with the girl in his car. It is said that the concerned lecturer admitted his guilt and had informed the college that he would no longer come for teaching.

Speaking on this issue, vice-chancellor Dr S P Kane said that this issue is very serious. However, it is not possible to take legal action in this case. However, it is our duty to investigate this matter and inquiry committee has been formed to look into the matter. The inquiry committee consist of Dr Alka Chaturvedi, Dr Anant Deshmukh and Dr Shrikant Komawar.
