These heights roughly equal 7-storied and 4-storied buildings respectively. To make way for these 2-deck flyovers, the existing Chhatrapati Flyover, which was scheduled to be razed this month, will now be demolished from first week of November.
NMRCL Spokesman informed that now the time to take the big leap has come. The tenders for Khapri and Sadar flyovers will be opened on November 15 and their construction will begin in December.
The three km long flyover, only second of its type in the country will carry road traffic as well as metro trains. It will begin from Ajni Square and end just before Hotel Pride. It will cost about 425 crore or about Rs 120 crore per km. The Manish Nagar spur will cost another 65 crore.
