New Delhi: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his Vote of Thanks speech in Lok Sabha, saying he spoke for over an hour but said nothing about important issues of the country. PM Modi, in his over an hour long speech, attacked the Congress saying the country was paying the price of the poison infested by the party.

Reacting to Modi’s speech, Rahul Gandhi said, “PM Modi spoke for more than an hour in Lok Sabha but didn’t speak a word on Rafale deal, or on farmers or on employment for youth. It was totally a political speech.” He added that the Congress party had put forth these three questions in front of the Prime Minister but he chose not to answer them.

“Whenever he speaks, he doesn’t speak about the big issues of the country. He either speaks about the Congress or himself. It is okay to speak about all other things in a public meeting. But Parliament is meant to give answers to the people of India,” Rahul Gandhi said.

“I think Modiji has forgotten that he is the PM now, he should answer questions and not always accuse the opposition,” Gandhi added.

Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi also hit out at Modi saying he spoke the same old things. “PM said nothing new, he is repeating old things, people are interested about their jobs , they want to know about their future,” Sonia Gandhi said.
