Nagpur: To check the anti-terror preparedness of the forces, a strong contingent of the elite National Security Guards (NSG), along with the city police and other national and state security agencies, conducted a joint mock drill at Smriti Mandir in Reshimbag on Tuesday.
Hundreds of armed security personnel cordoned off the premises of Smriti Mandir and Pandurang Bhavan of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from the morning for the joint exercise. Besides central forces, the quick response teams and bomb detection and disposal squad participated in the drill, which continued until the evening.
Earlier, a similar exercise was carried out at the RSS Headquarters in Mahal, due to potential threats from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)-backed terrorist organizations.
A senior police official told the media that the joint exercise aimed to ensure full preparedness to thwart the nefarious designs of the Pak-backed terrorist organizations.
