Mobile phones worth over Rs 4 lakh stolen from Sadar shop

Yet another mobile shop was targeted by unidentified persons and a number of high-end handsets worth over Rs 4 lakh were stolen on intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The complainant Atamjitsingh Santoshsingh Makkad (58), resident of Bezonbagh, owns Bombay Electronics Shop at Anjuman Complex, Sadar. Atamjitsingh closed his shop as usual around 9.45 pm on Thursday and went home. The next day (June 17) when he came to open the shop around 10 am, he noticed lock of the shutter smashed and the shutter bent. Sensing foul play, Atamjitsingh called Sadar police who immediately reached the scene. The Atamjit, in the presence of cops, opened his shop and found the goods scattered. A close scrutiny revealed 16 mobile phones of Samsung company worth Rs 1,85,060 and 18 handsets of Vivo company worth Rs 2,27,790 stolen by the unidentified miscreant(s). The collective value of burgled goods stood at Rs 4,12,850.

Sadar PSI Varpade has registered a theft case under Sections 457, 380 of IPC and launched a search to nab the burglar.
