Mumbai: With the Maharashtra Assembly elections drawing near, political parties are gearing up for the race. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has announced a list of 45 candidates for the upcoming elections. Among the prominent names is Aditya Durugkar, who has been given a ticket to contest from South Nagpur, where he is expected to challenge BJP’s Mohan Mate. Meanwhile, Congress has yet to release its list of candidates for the region, leaving speculation about whom they will field in the South Nagpur constituency.
In another major move, MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s son, Amit Thackeray, will contest from the Mahim Assembly constituency. Additionally, Sandeep Deshpande will represent MNS from Worli, setting up a high-stakes battle between him and Shiv Sena’s Aditya Thackeray in the constituency.
Raj Thackeray, who was on a campaign tour in Dombivli yesterday, also announced the candidacies of Raju Patil for Kalyan Rural and Avinash Jadhav for Thane. During a brief 5-minute speech, he confirmed these two key nominations.
