The Question Hour in Assembly on Monday witnessed members other than Nagpur itself raising the issue of toll tax being collected in city. The members Bunty Bhangdiya, Dr Devrao Holey, Krushna Gajbe and Sanjay Dhote demanded abolition of toll tax being collected on the roads entering Nagpur city.

Replying to the question, Public Works Minister (Public Undertaking) Eknath Shinde said that the P C Joshi Committee is slated to give its report along with recommendations in two months. Since the issue concerns financial decision, a positive decision will be taken after the report is submitted. The issue of misbehaviour with people’s representatives at toll tax posts will be probed after receiving complaints and those found guilty will be punished, assured Shinde.

The supplementary questions on the issue were also raised by Harish Pimple, Patangrao Kadam, Gopaldas Agrawal and Chhagan Bhujbal rather vociferously.
