Nagpur: In another tragic incident that occurred in Sonegaon area on September 16, 2015, a minor school girl’s dead body was found near the boundary wall of MIHAN.
Senior Police Officials including Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranjan Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepali Masirkar and the entire team of Crime Branch reached the spot immediately on receipt of the information.
Rape and murder is suspected in the preliminary investigation. The exact area is said to be near Isasani hillock which falls in the jurisdiction of Sonegaon Police Station.
Police sources claimed that the deceased minor girl was not in the school uniform. A school bag was also found near the dead body of the deceased. However, some of the books are said to belong to her sister.
Police said that the girl stayed at Dongre Layout, Ekatmata Nagar, in the jurisdiction of Rana Pratap Nagar police station. Cops found the girl’s address from the books.
The body had some strangulation marks on the neck and some bruises. Cops suspect it is a case of rape with murder. However, police said that the rape will be confirmed only after post mortem report is received.
Police have shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. Till the matter was reported to the press, Sonegaon police had not filed a murder case. The girl’s parents had been summoned by the cops, but details of further investigation were not available till the time of going to press.
