Nagpur: Residents of the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) have voiced growing concerns over several civic and infrastructure-related issues, prompting intervention from Maharashtra Revenue Minister and Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

During a recent review meeting, residents highlighted problems including high water charges, irregular garbage collection, poor road maintenance, inadequate street lighting, and other basic civic shortcomings affecting daily life in the township.

The residents expressed disappointment that despite MIHAN being envisioned as one of Maharashtra’s flagship infrastructure projects, several essential public services remain below expectations. They urged authorities to take immediate corrective measures to improve the quality of life in the area.

Taking note of the grievances, Bawankule directed officials of the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) to conduct a detailed assessment of the issues and prepare an action plan for their resolution. He emphasized the need for timely intervention and better coordination among departments responsible for civic services.

MADC officials assured that efforts are underway to address the concerns raised by residents. The agency is expected to review water supply management, road repairs, sanitation services, and other infrastructure requirements in the coming weeks.

MIHAN, developed as a major economic and logistics hub for Central India, has attracted residential, commercial, and industrial investments over the years. However, residents say that the area’s rapid development must be matched with reliable civic amenities and efficient public services.

The latest intervention by the Guardian Minister has raised hopes among residents that long-pending issues will finally receive the attention needed to ensure MIHAN’s continued growth as a world-class urban and business destination.
