47th Middle Level Commanders and Staff Officers Law Course commenced on 06th Mar 2017 at IML. The course started with the opening address of Brig Vijay Kumar, Commandant Institute of Military Law. The course is of four weeks duration and is being attended by senior officers in the rank of Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel and Majors. The officers represent various military formations of Indian Army where they are handling discipline and vigilance cases of the Army as Staff Officers and Middle Level Commanders. They play a key role in dispensation of military justice amongst the rank and file of the Indian Army.

Addressing the officers the Commandant IML, Brig Vijay Kumar apprised the officers about the aim of the course and the endeavor of the Institute to enable them to understand the application of Military and Allied Laws to the ground situations. He emphasized that by imparting instructions on Military & Allied Laws the Institute is preparing them for their onerous duties where there is no scope of error or illegality. During the course the officers will be trained for their role as ‘A’ staff officers dealing with discipline & vigilance cases objectivity. They will be given theoretical and practical training of law.

Institute of Military Law is an elite institution working under the aegis of Army Training Command Shimla commanded by Lt Gen DR Soni, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief.
