Middle-aged woman, minor girl molested in Koradi and Lakadganj

Nagpur: Molestation cases have increased rapidly in the Second Capital. Two more molestation cases were registered in Koradi and Lakadganj police stations.

A 32-year-old woman was molested while she was returning home on Friday under the jurisdiction of Koradi police station. Police said, was returning from her work when the accused Avinash Ramesh Wankhede, a resident of Sambhaji Nagar, passed indecent comments and hurled profanities at her way. Thus, he molested her with his gestures. The accused also issued life-threatening warnings. The woman approached Koradi police and lodged a complaint against Avinash. Cops have registered an offence under Sections 294, 506 (b), and 354 of the IPC and have booked Avinash.

The second case was registered by Lakadganj police on Friday. According to information, a 20-year-old youth Sarfaraz alias Chhotu Mohd Izrail held hand of a 16-year-old girl on Friday and proposed to marry. But the girl refused and pushed him to release herself. Sarfaraz got angry over this started using foul language against the girl. The accused then ran away.
On the basis of the complaint by the girl, Lakadganj police have registered an offence under Sections 354 (a) (1) of the IPC and booked the youth.
